Mr. Vett, founding member of Allen Ross Architecture, is a licensed Architect with over twenty-six years of professional experience. He manages projects through all phases, orchestrating teams to complete all aspects of consultation, design, delivery, and construction. In New York City and the greater Hudson Valley of New York, John guides clients to the realization of projects of all sizes and levels of complexity.
John leads the architectural studio team in the production of designs, bid documents, construction documents, specifications, and creative solutions. As a project manager he acts as the key liaison with the client, consultants, regulatory agencies, and contractors. He aims to incorporate green building technologies with his extensive knowledge of the built environment and project management. His experience and expertise allow him to deliver successful projects to his clients with clarity and efficacy.
Previously, as a Senior Project Architect for Acheson Doyle Partners Architects in New York City, he worked on numerous commercial and institutional projects such as boutique hotel guestrooms, church renovations, adaptive reuse analyses for church properties and ADA compliance analyses for hotels. For seven years he was a Project Architect at Bialecki Architects in Gardiner, NY and in New York City. There, he managed a team to produce designs, construction documents and specifications featuring green building technologies for high end residences. John operated his own consulting business (J4 Architectural Consulting) in which he provided comprehensive architectural services.
His time in New York City included tenures with Ogawa Depardon Architects, Ohlhausen DuBois Architects and Dineen Nealy Architects. John was an Adjunct Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Dept. of Interior Design, in New York City from 2003 to 2006, and was an Adjunct Professor at Dutchess Community College, Dept. of Architecture, in Poughkeepsie, New York in 2007. Prior to his involvement with award winning work at Allen Ross Architecture, John was involved with other winning projects, including the Breen Residence, Woodstock, NY (AIA Mid-Hudson/Westchester 2009 Honor Award), Red Hook Workspace, Brooklyn, NY (New York City Chapter 2007 Merit Award) and the Harlem Stage Gatehouse, New York, NY (New York State Chapter 2007 Citation for Design, Restoration & Adaptive Reuse and the New York City Department of Design and Construction 2008 Lucy B. Moses Preservation Award).
