Larchmont, NY | Addition of a Great Room and porch matching the the distinctive Georgian style of the original building with great attention to the detailing and sense of proportion. It maintains the historic narrative of “accretion,” that is, a home that has grown over time with a series of additions. The exterior was updated with traditional materials of stone and slate. To reconcile the owner’s need for storage inside the new Great Room and the important aesthetic considerations of the fenestration on the principal façade, the windows flanking the new chimney are full height, double hung on the exterior, but only single hung on the interior.
